OVERVIEW

This fictional story is narrated during the times of the Inquisition. The protagonist is burned as a heretic, and his soul starts a journey in search of philosophical answers.

Our design approach uses late 15th and 16th century printed books as an initial reference. A remarkable aspect of the content is that it is composed of many short chapters written in numerous small paragraphs. To compensate for this fragmented structure, we used paragraph symbols instead of line breaks which were also very common in early European printed books. Working closely together with the illustrator, Thaís Linhares, we created appealing aesthetics for the young adult audience.
